Damian Lillard has recently met with the management of the Portland Trail Blazers where he demands important movements for the next free agent market, the media reported. The Athletic.
The Blazers have missed out on the playoffs with a negative 2-15 in their last 17 games played. With the regular season thrown away, Lillard doesn’t even want to talk about a possible pick in the 2023 Draft, and expects important signings that will allow them to fight for the NBA championship.
“I’m not interested in it. It’s no secret,” she noted of a possible addition of a rookies. «I want to have the opportunity to fight for the title. And if the path is to draft youngsters, then that’s not my path,” he said.
On the other hand, the Blazers would have already made it clear that they will trade their next first round pick, unless they get the number 1 where everything points to Frenchman Victor Wembanyama.
Lillard, 32, and his entire NBA career wearing the Blazers jersey, has four guaranteed campaigns ahead of him valued at approximately $196 million, and a player option for the 2026-27 season of $63.22 million.
His figures in Portland to date have been 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1 steal in 769 official games.
