Boston shows interest in acquiring Jakob Poeltl

The talent drain that San Antonio has starred in since the departure of Derrick White last March is still leaving its last breaths in the form of veterans. The Spurs still have some interesting player for a team willing to compete now. Among them Josh Richardson, Doug McDermott and Jakob Poeltl. The Austrian center is the one whose ears ring the most with transfer rumors and, according to Brian Windhorst in his latest podcast for ESPNthe Celtics would be one of those interested in taking over their services.

San Antonio intended to extend Poeltl’s contract before the start of the current season, but the player turned down all the offers that were put on the table. This makes it unlikely that the franchise can keep him next summer, so although his main idea was to keep him, they may have to let him go so as not to be left empty-handed.

Boston appears in these, looking for an interior capable of defending the ring to cover the loss of Rob Williams and rest Al Horford. At the moment this is just a leak of what Windhorst refers to as the environment of the organization. It is unknown what kind of offer the Celtics are considering to get Poeltl. Of course, until not long ago the Spurs requested two first rounds to let him out.
