The New York Mets opened Friday’s set of games with a 3-4 record.
Between the mediocre record and some key injuries, things could definitely be better in Queens.
But that didn’t stop people from filling Citi Field to its full capacity on Friday, in the Mets’ home opener.
Even in an afternoon game, fans answered the call and went there to show their support in the game against the Miami Marlins.
Of course, the player introductions came with a surprise appearance.

Edwin Diaz, the Mets’ star closer, was at Citi Field to greet the fans and be part of the team introductions.
Of course, the theme played when he was introduced was none other than “Narco”, by Blasterjaxx and Timmy Trumpet.
It’s his entrance song every time he takes the world looking for a save.
He adopted and made it his, not before sharing it with the whole of Citi Field and its atmosphere last year.
Diaz, as you probably remember, is injured and won’t pitch this season after hurting his knee while celebrating a big win in the World Baseball Classic with Puerto Rico.
The Mets are certainly going to miss his 1.31 ERA and 118 strikeouts since last year.
Despite his current conditions, he made sure not to miss the party and was waving and recognizing the crowd’s support with crutches in his hand.
He will be back stronger than ever next year.
As for the Mets, they will have to move on without him in 2023.
It won’t be easy, but they are talented enough to make a deep postseason run nonetheless.
