The World Baseball Classic is over.
This means that the St. Louis Cardinals are about to get some key reinforcements at spring camp as the regular season draws nearer.
Team Japan defeated Team USA by a final of 3-2 on Tuesday night to capture their third WBC title.
Outfielder Lars Nootbaar was a part of Team Japan’s run, while Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Adam Wainwright, and Miles Mikolas contributed for Team USA.
On Twitter, a Cardinals analyst posted a funny TikTok featuring a downtrodden Nicholas Cage looking at a laughing Pedro Pascal, depicting Team USA’s stars as Cage and Nootbaar as Pascal.

There may be some of that taking place on Wednesday as the remaining Cardinals stars still competing in the WBC make their return to spring camp in Jupiter, Florida.
After all, Nootbaar is walking away from the Classic as a champion, while the rest of the Cardinals stars are walking away with a feeling of disappointment.
The Classic was certainly full of fun and memorable moments, and the Cardinals stars competing in the tournament certainly got a chance to be a part of those.
Nootbaar served as a motivational speaker of sorts for Team Japan, reminding everyone to stay loose while they competed for glory.
Soon, the Cardinals will have a chance to embrace these stars back at spring camp and make their final preparations for Opening Day, which is just over a week away.
The WBC may be over, but more is coming.
