Friday is St. Patrick’s Day, which means that several teams across Major League Baseball will be sporting their green alternate jerseys that are reserved for this day specifically.
However, there is one team that has supposedly not joined in on the fun, and that team may surprise a few people.
The Boston Red Sox of all teams have chosen not to wear their green jerseys.
This has certainly caught some Red Sox fans and analysts off guard.
On Twitter, one analyst posted a photo of former Red Sox star Mike Napoli wearing the green jersey and commented that it was “criminal” that the Red Sox had not busted out the jerseys on this occasion.
Absolutely criminal the Red Sox aren’t wearing the green jerseys today. pic.twitter.com/t9uBcan5TB

Considering the Irish heritage of Boston, one would assume that the team might want to take part in Friday’s celebration.
However, it appears that the Red Sox will not be wearing their green jerseys.
When playing a baseball game, it’s a little bit hard to pinch the opposing team for not wearing green, as many people commonly do on this holiday when they see that somebody is not wearing green.
The Red Sox have worn green jerseys on St. Patrick’s Day in the past, so it’s an interesting choice for the team to not wear them on Friday.
Teams such as the St. Louis Cardinals have busted out their green hats for the special occasion.
But this decision by the Red Sox has left some fans and analysts puzzled and is somewhat of a head scratcher.
