The MLB season has finally come to a close, and teams are ready for the offseason.

While many Owners and General Managers look over their rosters and coaching staffs, some may still be mulling a coaching change.

Most of the time managers get fired right after the regular season ends.

While uncommon, we could still see it happen as we head into free agency.

Here are two MLB managers who should have been fired after the season.

Dave Roberts, Los Angeles Dodgers

This may come as a surprise to many because Dave Roberts led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a team-record 111 wins.

But, great teams only get remembered for what they do in the playoffs.

In an interview with dan patrick Before the season, Roberts put added pressure on his team by saying they would win the World Series.

This Dodgers team was a heavy favorite to win the World Series, instead, they could not get out of the first round.

Losing to the Padres, a divisional rival, in the playoffs is inexcusable.

The Dodgers went 14-5 vs. the Padres in the regular season, yet lost the playoff series 3-1.

This was one of the most disappointing playoff performances from an elite team in some time.

No one would blame the Dodgers’ front office if they moved off Roberts.

Dave Martinez, Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals should be ready to move on from Dave Martinez soon.

Even though he led this Nationals team to a championship in 2019.

The three years following that championship saw the Nationals’ win total dip.

It is not Martinez’s fault that the team did not re-sign Bryce Harper.

Or traded Max Scherzer, Trea Turner, and Juan Soto.

Those moves essentially killed any hope the Nats’ had of having continued success.

But as Washington gets set for their next chapter, they should bring in a young manager that can help develop the players.

Martinez will be 58 years old next season and he probably does not want to spend another season managing a rebuilding team.
