Josh Hart will not move from the Knicks

Josh Hart has to his credit a ‘player option’ valued at 12.90 million dollars for the next season, and everything indicates that he will reject it to negotiate a new commitment with the Knicks, reports Michael Scotto in the middle HoopsHype.com.

The 2016 NCAA champion from Villanova University arrived in New York at the trade deadline from the Portland Trail Blazers, and his signing has been a huge success, becoming Tom Thibodeau’s “Swiss Army Knife.”

Since their arrival the knickerbockers they have a 9-1 record, and Hart has a record of 11.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 3.1 steals per day.

“He’s a perfect fit,” Michael Scotto noted. “Hart has a player option of almost 13 million that he is expected to reject and become a free agent. But let the Knicks fans not suffer, Hart loves New York, and the Knicks want to renew him. I see him getting a new agreement between three or four years, but when the time comes », he explained.

“I totally agree,” replied his partner Ian Begley in the podcast of the aforementioned medium. “I don’t think they would make that trade with a future protected first rounder and Cam Reddish if they didn’t have that degree of confidence that he would still be here,” he said.

Along with Hart’s future, the Knicks will also have to decide what to do with their respective team options for Derrick Rose ($15.96 million) and Miles McBride ($1.83 million). In addition, there is the French Evan Fournier, separated from the rotation and who will enter his last guaranteed year valued at 18.85 million (2024-25 is a team option of 19 million).
