The New York Yankees had an active offseason, even if they didn’t really add that many people.

They added star left-hander Carlos Rodon and reliever Tommy Kahnle, but their most important moves were re-signing Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo.

Still, their roster suffered a few transformations from the unit that got swept in the American League Championship Series by the Houston Astros.

Four notable Yankees from the 2022 team are now with other organizations, all of them with different objectives and goals.

Jameson Taillon is joining the Chicago Cubs, a project that might still be a year short of being fully completed, but a fun one that has a chance of yielding postseason baseball as soon as 2023.

Matt Carpenter was a revelation with the Yankees in 2022, with a new swing and some impressive results (15 home runs in just 154 plate appearances).

Everything was smooth sailing until he fractured his leg after fouling off a ball.

Andrew Benintendi scored a nice contract from the Chicago White Sox and fills a need in their outfield.

He is above-average both offensively and defensively, and would actually be perfect on the 2023 Yankees since they are fielding the struggling Aaron Hicks as the starter in left field.

Last but not least, Aroldis Chapman will try to get his career back on track with the Kansas City Royals.

The 4.46 ERA he had in 2022 was the highest of his career, and the Yankees didn’t want to extend his stay in the Bronx.

Those four names will continue to write their destiny in different locations and MLB organizations.

The Yankees have moved on, for better or for worse.
