With a number of the big name MLB free agents being signed, it is becoming clear who is winning and losing with the contracts.
There has been a lot of money moving around so far.
Names like Aaron Judge, Trea Turner, and Justin Verlander have garnered large contracts.
However, what teams have overpaid so far?
Here is a look at two teams that may regret their free agent signings.
1.Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have quietly made a handful of moves to help improve their roster.
However, there is reason to believe these may backfire on them in the long run.
Their first major signing was Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida for a five-year, $90 million deal.

While Yoshida has performed well in Japan, some scouts and GMs stated following the signing that they saw him earning half of that contract on the market.
He still has yet to play in the United States, but already the signing is being looked at as an overpay.
The team also signed closer Kenley Jansen to a two-year $32 million deal.
While the signing will certainly help their bullpen, $16 million per year for an aging relief arm that has really struggled at times looks like an overpay.
Time will tell, but it is possible that the Red Sox will regret making these moves.
2. San Francisco Giants
From the start of the offseason, the San Francisco Giants were prepared to spend big.
After their plans for signing Aaron Judge fell through, the team shifted its sights to Carlos Correa.

They were able to ink the superstar, signing him to a staggering 13-year, $350 million deal.
While the yearly average isn’t unreasonable, the 13 years is surprising.
This is a deal that could age very poorly and end up being a severe overpay for the Giants.
