The Chicago Cubs have plenty of holes in their roster that need filling after their disappointing 2022 season.
While the team has some stars on their roster, they are using the free agency period to improve their roster.
With the team already signing three big-name players, fans are hoping the trend continues.
While the free agent market is dwindling, there are still two easy upgrades for the Cubs out there this offseason.
1. Mychal Givens
Cubs fans all know how well Mychal Givens was doing before the team sent him to the New York Mets.
With the Mets declining his 2023 option, the Cubs can get this bullpen arm back.
Mets decline their part of Mychal Givens mutual option, Eppler said.

His 2022 season with the Cubs saw him play 40 games, with a 2.66 ERA and a 6-2 record.
He also had two saves and consistently kept the Cubs in games during his relief appearances.
Getting him back is a simple decision for the Cubs bullpen.
2.Dansby Swanson
Dansby Swanson is the best shortstop still on the market for the Cubs to get.
While the team missed out on Carlos Correa, they still can get this former Atlanta Braves shortstop.
His 2022 season saw him posting his best batting average (.277) since his rookie season in Atlanta.
He also had a career high in RBI (96), runs (99), and hits (177) during the 2022 season.
But it wasn’t just his bat that was impressive last season, as he also won his first Gold Glove during 2022.
While some might believe this means he peaked during 2022, the 28-year-old has plenty of time to keep improving.
Everything about him makes him an easy choice to improve the Cubs lineup for 2023.
